Poster Sessions

Please, follow the guidelines below for the preparation of the final version.

HIS'08 integrates in this edition a poster session, which provides an excellent possibility for authors to present in an informal and interactive way their original and unpublished work that demonstrates current research using soft computing, computational intelligence and other intelligent computing techniques and their applications in science, technology, business and commerce. Authors are encouraged to present for this poster session their ongoing works, applications that can be demonstrated, or hybrid techniques that have been successfully applied out of the academic world, among others.

All the works submitted to the poster session should be in the frame of the HIS'08 topics, which focus on the following themes:

  • Hybrid Intelligent Systems: Architectures and Applications
  • Soft Computing for Image and Signal Processing
  • Intelligent Internet Modeling, Communication and Networking
  • Intelligent Data mining
  • Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
  • Intelligent Business Information Systems
  • Soft Computing for Control and Automation
  • Multi Agent Systems and Applications
  • Special topics

(See the full list)

Submitted papers for this special session should be original and contain contributions of theoretical, experimental or application nature, or be unique experience reports. They must be two pages length extended abstract in the IEEE 8.5 two-column format, and containing up to 5 keywords. Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness, and will be reviewed by posters session program committee.

Papers must be submitted no later than May 31, 2008 and electronic submission in PDF is required via the web site.

It is assumed that all accepted manuscripts would be presented at the conference poster session. All accepted extended abstracts must be accompanied by a full paid registration to appear in the proceedings.

Important dates

See the calendar page.

Guidelines

Please, remember that manuscripts for the poster session should be two pages length in the IEEE two columns format, and must be submited before July 20th. All accepted manuscripts must be accompained by a full paid registration to appear in the proceedings.

The maximum size for posters should not exceed 90 cm (width) x 120 cm (height) which can accommodate the standard size DIN/ISO A0: 84.1 cm (width) x 118.9 cm (height); the orientation is portrait. Contents of posters should focus on the introduction, methods, results and discussion, and conclusions. Make certain your message is clear and simple. This will help people to rapidly get a general overview of what you are presenting. The title, author name(s) and affiliation must be at the top of the poster. It is recommended (but not mandatory) to print some small copies of the poster (in DIN A4) for giving it to the interested audience. Notice that all lettering must be easily read from a distance of about 1.5 meters so types should be a minimum of 1.0 to 1.5 cm high.
