Welcome Message from General Chairs
On behalf of SoCPaR 2015 Organization Committee, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the
Seventh International Conference on Soft Computing and Pattern Recognition (SoCPaR
2015) held at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan in November 13 - 15, 2015.
Following past six SoCPaR conference series, SoCPaR 2015 was organized to provide a
forum for researchers, engineers, and students from all over the world, to discuss the state-
of-the-art in Soft Computing and pattern recognition, for exchanging knowledge that
encompasses a broad range of disciplines among various distinct communities. The
conference theme is Innovating and Inspiring Soft Computing and Intelligent Pattern
Recognition.
We would like to express our appreciations to 273 authors who submitted their papers from
25 countries. This wide spread of authors in the world is worthy to the international
conference. Thanks to voluntary efforts of 115 referees' and Local Arrangement team. We
applied a similarity check tool, iThenticate / CrossCheck to all submitted papers and
accepted qualified papers with 65% acceptance rate to keep the quality of SoCPaR 2015
high.
SoCPaR 2015 was co-sponsored by Machine Intelligence Research Labs (MIR Labs) and
Research Center for Applied Perceptual Science of Kyushu University and technically
sponsored by IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society (SMCS) Japan Chapter.
SoCPaR 2015 was financially supported by Tateisi Science and Technology Foundation and
technically supported by three SMCS technical committees (TC's): TC on Soft Computing,
TC on Pattern Recognition, and Granular Computing. The success of SoCPaR 2015 was
brought by contributions of many volunteers and these organizations. We would like to thank
all the authors for submitting their papers, conference attendees for their presentations and
discussions, and two plenary speakers, Prof. Václav Snášel and Prof. Mengjie Zhang. We
also would like to thank members of our Organization Committee, Program Committee,
Publicity Committee, International Advisory Board, and staff students for their hard works.
