Call for Papers
Scope
This special session provides a meeting place for researchers studying how to extract useful knowledge from huge volumes of information stored in biological and biomedical databases using intelligent systems and data mining techniques. Intelligent systems and data mining in Bioinformatics are crucial for the scientific advancement of these disciplines because they provide a set of tools to discover useful knowledge from biological data, such as genetic mechanisms underlying disease, analysis of gene expression, protein structure, etc. The main objective of the Special Session on Intelligent Systems and Data Mining Techniques for Bioinformatics in the 11th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (ISDA 2011, http://www.uco.es/isda2011) is to exchange ideas and knowledge for the advance of this line of research. The intended audience is the scientific communities of Bioinformatics, Data Mining, Computation, Artificial Intelligence and Systems Biology.
