Scope

In the last decade there has been a growing interest in developing intelligent systems and architectures for information processing to derive new knowledge. The field of Education, and particularly the fields of e-learning and virtual learning, has been sensitive to this kind of systems, not only in the classical field of intelligent tutoring systems. Thus, a need to model, annotate and process the information generated by the students in order to acquire knowledge for improving the educational process has appeared. The main aim of this session is to serve as a forum to present and discuss new contributions, research efforts and applications on the on diverse perspectives of the use of intelligents systems in virtual learning including methods, techniques, recent advances, applications and tools.

Topics

We invite prospective authors to submit papers that propose the use of Intelligents Systems to advance the technology in the field of V-learning. Original contributions are solicited in the following topics (but are not limited to):

  • Knowledge Modeling and Management in Education.
  • Learning Objects and Learning Designs. Design and evaluation.
  • Instructional design. Instructional Engineering.
  • Metadata and Semantic Web in Education. Ontology learning and semantic annotation.
  • Linked data in Education. Linked data publication and consumption in Education.
  • Data mining, text mining, process mining, and web mining in Education.
  • Virtual learning environments.
  • Intelligent Tutoring Systems.
  • Soft Computing techniques in E-learning and V-learning.
  • Learning processes and designs.
  • User modeling and personalization in Education. Adaptive learning.
  • Recommender systems in Education.
