Cyber Threats: a holistic perspective and reflects in Brazil

[Abstract] This presentation discusses the issues related to cyber threats involving events that occurred between 2010 and 2012, and its historical perspective in order to fully understand the phenomena, and not just their individual parts. It is intended to show that cyber threats are much more than just a matter of national defense, but rather a problem of integrated areas in terms of components of the mission critical infrastructure of a nation. Are also discussed how we believe that the effects of the new global order of the threats hits the Brazil nowadays. |
[Biography] Prof. Dr. Adriano Mauro Cansian is Associate Professor atUNESP - Universidade Estadual Paulista (Sao Pauo State University,Brazil) in São José do Rio Preto Campus, where he teachs in gratuatedand pos-graduated courses since 1992, and where also coordinates theACME! Computer Security Research Labs. His main research interestareas are intrusion detection, TCP/IP networks safety and attacker'sprofiling and behavior. He also has IT coorporate and administrativeexperiences, acting as UNESP's CIO from 1997 to 2004. |
