Short Biography
Dr. Georgios Ch. Sirakoulis received his Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1996) from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. For his Diploma Thesis he received a prize of distinction from the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). In 2001, he received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. In 2002 he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, as a non-tenured faculty member, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. He was also co-founder and research associate of Ulysses Ltd., Kavala, Greece. He is a member of the IEEE, IET, EGU, ISCB, and TEE. He was also founding member and Vice President of the IEEE Student Branch of Thrace.

Georgios has published 23 papers in international journals, all included in the Science Citation Index, and more than 40 papers in international conference proceedings; he is co-author of one book and co-author of one invited book chapter. He acts as referee at several scientific journals and at many more conference proceedings. Furthermore, he was member in several conference organizing and scientific committees and chairman in many conference sessions. He has participated in more than 16 national and international scientific programmes and projects. Moreover, he is Associate Editor in recent Patents in Engineering.

His current research emphasis is on: Automated Electronic Systems Design, Cellular Automata Theory and Applications, CAD systems, Physical Design Automation of VLSI Systems, Applied Electronics, Bioelectronics and Molecular Electronics.
