Short Biography
Theodore P. Pachidis  was born in Drama, Greece, in August 1962. He received the B.S. degree in physics and the M.S. degree in electronics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1985 and 1989, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in robotics and machine vision systems from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece, in 2005. Since 1989, he has been a Teacher of physics and electronics in Kavala, Greece. From 1996 to 1998, he was a Schoolmaster at the Public Professional Training Institute, Kavala. Since 2005, he has been with the Kavala Institute of Technology. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Industrial Informatics Department, School of Applied Technology, Kavala Institute of Technology (TEI). He is also Head of Sector for the development and promotion of new products at the Technological Research Center of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (TRC-EMC). He has participated as a coordinator or as a member in a number of projects. Some of them are the following: a) TECHNOMATHEIA I (GSRT) Program for the development of young people’s inventiveness. b) “Countermeasure system against pulsed Doppler Radar” (DUTH), c) “Autonomous Underwater Vehicle for Subsea Intervention-FREESUB” (EU, GSRT), d) “INTERREGIIIA / PHARE CBC” the project entitled “Hybrid Separation Technologies” (EU),  e) “D. Sidiropoulos & Co. - Measurements in oven manufacturing nuts” (TRC-EMT), f) “Optical recognition of geometric features of grape leaves using computer vision” (TEI of Kavala), g) “Developing and implementing innovative manufacturing processes and improving quality characteristics of beverage products” (TRC-EMT, innovation coupon). He has published a number of refereed papers in international journals (14), conference proceedings (18) and book chapters (4). He has also written many other teaching notes and documents. He is a reviewer in many international journals and conferences. His research interests include software engineering, computer programming, robotic systems, robot behaviors and sensory-based control, cooperating robots, machine vision, image processing, control systems, analog and digital electronics, sensors and measurements. He is member of the Union of Greek Physicists. Member of IEEE (Computer, Robotics and Automation society). Member of EUCogII, EUCogIII. Member of  Scientific Committees.
